Master in Management (PGE): SKEMA Revamps Its Signature Projective CV for the 2027 Admissions Cycle
Looking Ten Years Ahead and Navigating Uncertainty
For several years, SKEMA's personality and motivation interview has invited candidates to imagine their academic and professional journey ten years into the future. This principle remains unchanged: each candidate will continue to prepare their projective CV in advance and present it to the interview panel to explain their aspirations and academic and career choices.
Starting with the 2027 admissions cycle, an additional dimension will be introduced. During the interview, the panel will present candidates with two successive scenarios, one unfavorable and one favorable, drawn from a database of prospective scenarios, challenging them to reconsider their plans.
"What we're adding to candidates' projections is a dose of uncertainty, which is inherent in our world. This will make the interview more distinctive and more revealing of each candidate's potential," explains Sylvie Jean, director of SKEMA's Master in Management (Grande École Program).
A Database of Prospective Scenarios to Challenge Candidates
To enhance the interview, SKEMA has developed a database of prospective scenarios integrated into its admissions interview management system. The school drew on foresight studies published by French and international organizations, including the OECD, the US National Intelligence Council, and leading strategy consulting firms. Frédéric Munier, professor of geopolitics at SKEMA, contributed to the development of this prospective dimension.
In practice, candidates will be required to upload their projective CV to SKEMA's admissions platform 48 hours before the interview. An internally developed artificial intelligence tool will analyze the document and propose two scenarios tailored to each CV. Interview panel members will retain full control over scenario selection, the conduct of the interview, and candidate evaluation.
SKEMA will soon release sample scenarios to help candidates familiarize themselves with the updated oral examination and practice analyzing, defending, and adapting their plans.
A 20-Minute Interview in Three Stages
The interview will remain 20 minutes long, with a panel of two to three interviewers. It will be divided into three stages:
- Two to three minutes: Presentation of the candidate's projective CV outlining their ten-year plan.
- Ten to twelve minutes: Discussion of the CV through two scenarios, one favorable and one unfavorable, introduced successively by the interview panel.
- Five to six minutes: Open discussion about the candidate's experiences and interests.
This enhanced interview format applies to both candidates from French preparatory classes (CPGE) and those applying through the Admissions sur Titres (AST) pathway.
Building on Preparatory Class Learning in the Grande École Program
This evolution of the personality interview is part of a broader initiative to strengthen continuity between French preparatory classes and grandes écoles. It also complements the rollout of INGENIUM, introduced at the start of the 2026 academic year to reinforce academic rigor within the Grande École Program.
These developments reflect the SEEK pillar of SKEMA's UNVEIL 2025–2030 strategic plan: helping students gain a better understanding of themselves and build on their existing knowledge and skills to shape a path aligned with their aspirations.
Please note: Sylvie Jean will lead a conference entitled "How to Succeed in Your Motivation Interview" at the Grand Salon des Grandes Écoles in Paris on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. to noon, in Lecture Hall 1.
