Stand-up takes centre stage on the Sophia Antipolis campus
On 24 March, the Sophia Antipolis campus hosted the first edition of SKEMA Comedy Night, an event conceived and delivered by students from the MSc Digital Marketing & Business of Entertainment programme. In front of several hundred spectators, one of the campus lecture theatres was turned into a stand-up venue for an evening combining humour, event production and hands-on professional experience.
Designed as a full-scale project, the event involved students across the entire production chain: artistic programming, communication, technical management, logistics and overall coordination. It offered direct practical application of the skills developed throughout the programme.
An open stage shared by students and established comedians
After several weeks of preparation, three students — Miranda Patterson, Thomas Petroussenko and Vincent Massol — took to the stage to perform their first stand-up sets before the audience. They shared the bill with four professional comedians: Antonin Ecce, Victor Parnaso, Nesrine Haris and Thomas Santarelli, who each performed extracts from their shows in a format close to live stand-up club performances.
A concrete project with immediate impact
A total of 243 tickets were sold, seven comedians performed during the evening, and 18 students contributed to organising this first edition. Beyond strong attendance, the initiative highlighted the students’ ability to deliver a full cultural project in a demanding format at the crossroads of event management, entertainment and communication.
