MSc Global Supply Chain students' exchange week to POLIMI, Milan

Published on 10 March 2023

Once a year, our MSc Global Supply Chain Management & Procurement students have the opportunity to do an international student exchange for elective courses and can go to the beautiful MIP (POLIMI Graduate School of Management) campus in Milan. In this article, one of our students who went to Milan, Ghita Ercif, tells us about her experience of the week.

MIP Milano is, besides our MSc Global Supply Chain Management & Procurement programme, the other leading master's degree programme in the world with regard to procurement. This makes them ideal partners to give a second perspective on this important topic.

Ghita's testimonial:

"For a week, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in an exchange programme at POLIMI Management School in Milan. What made this experience truly special, however, was the amazing group of classmates I had the chance to share it with.

The main focus of my exchange was an IoT (internet of things) course, where I had the opportunity to dive deep into the latest technologies and trends in the field. In this course, we tackled the various domains in which IoT can be used, like smart homes, smart cities, and smart logistics.

Throughout the week, we spent long hours in class, but also explored the city of Milan together and formed tight bonds over shared experiences and meals. I was struck by the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives represented in our group, and I learned so much from my classmates just through conversation and exchanging ideas.

We also had several group activities inside and outside the classroom, including a visit to some of the city's famous landmarks and cultural institutions, which allowed us to bond further and have fun together. I'll always treasure the memories and the new connections made during this exchange.

While the coursework was undoubtedly engaging and informative, it was the new friendships I formed with my classmates that made this exchange truly unforgettable. I am grateful for the chance to meet such a wonderful group of people and I can't wait to see where our paths may cross in the future."
