Abstract
In tbe wireless communications market, nearly every incumbent operator bas experienced business problems in recent years. The reason for this is the opening of the market to competitive operators and the following drop in prices as well as attractive services in the mobile telepbony market. This article describes changes in competitive advantages deriving from tbe development of Third Generation services. In this article we (1) analyze the value chain strategy framework giving an analysis of wireless mar. bet attractiveness and changes in competitive advantages; (2) outline five competitive strategies and (3) validate them with reference to 16 network providers in 17 countries in Europe, US and Asia in order to analyze the bebavior of systems not only in management but also in environment change, politics, economic bebavior.
