The reorganization of Siemens AG
2020, The Case Centre
Abstract
this case study is set in 2018, at a time when CEO Joe Kaeser was in charge of Siemens. The study deals intensively with the 'Vision 2020' plan that Kaeser introduced in 2013 as a response to problems within the company, and analyses the individual steps of the strategy. It begins with a description of Siemens’ historical strategy, and then describes in detail the steps that were addressed in 'Vision 2020'. In the second stage, the study addresses how Siemens’ management tackled those issues, and evaluate them. In the final stage, I provide some ideas and recommendations on how to keep momentum and address future challenges. Students should thereby understand and learn how processes in a conglomerate like Siemens work, and how to connect them strategically
