Emmanuelle Rigaud: new MSc Global Luxury and Management director

Published on 07 November 2019

Emmanuelle Rigaud-Lacresse will be co-directing SKEMA’s MSc in Global Luxury and Management programme, taught in Paris and the US as part of the double degree course managed jointly by SKEMA and NC State University.

A professor of marketing, Emmanuelle has taught at various universities and management schools: ESCP Europe, GEM, Paris Panthéon Sorbonne University and University of Marne-la-Vallée. She was recently in charge of luxury management programmes at NEOMA Business School.

Before that, she worked for over 15 years in international marketing with major groups including Yves Saint Laurent and LVMH. Her research particularly focuses on the strategies of organisations and brands, and on luxury brand management.

An author of numerous publications, she recently wrote book titled “Luxury management: opportunities and challenges”, written jointly with her Italian counterpart Fabrizio Maria Pini who teaches at the Politechnico di Milano, published by Vuibert.

The book puts forward an updated summary of the sector’s main transformations and challenges. Through several case studies and testimonials from 17 top managers, it provides a fresh view of players in the luxury sector and provides suggestions for appropriate across-the-board management to help organisations move towards the models of the future.

Emmanuelle was also the co-editor of New Luxury Management: Creating and Managing Sustainable Value Across the Organization, published by Palgrave Macmillan.

SKEMA’s Master of Science (MSc) in Global Luxury Management programme is taught in English. It has been designed as a double degree with the Poole College of Management and Poole College of Textiles at the North Carolina State University. The MSc programme is taught on SKEMA’s Paris campus in France and the Raleigh campus in the US by around ten professors from different nationalities. Students benefit from a rich multicultural environment and outstanding professional speakers from leading fashion and luxury brands such as Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Guerlain and Ralph Lauren.
