Relais Sport Planète: talk on environment and entrepreneurship by SKEMA alumna

Published on 19 November 2021

From 12 to 21 November, the Relais Sport Planète event (a sports relay for the planet), organised by MAIF, will be shining a spotlight on sport and sustainable development. On Saturday, 20 November, in Sophia Antipolis, SKEMA alumna Marine Jacq-Pietri (Class of 2020) will share her vision as a young eco-adventurer.

Over 10 days, environmentally-conscious athletes will be making their way around France as part of the Sport Planète relay to build awareness and take action for the environment through conferences and various events. During a round-table on SKEMA’s Sophia Antipolis campus, where she will be for the second-last leg, our Global BBA graduate Marine Jacq-Pietri will talk about the creation of her eco-adventure business.

This young native from Corsica firmly believes in her eco-adventure business venture, launched this year. “I got the idea after meeting Solene Chevreuil, one of the eco-adventurers behind Projet Azur. I want to create adventures with a strong environmental focus that have a positive impact, and put humans back in their rightful place in nature,” explained the entrepreneur.

After her three years on the Sophia Antipolis campus, Marine went on to study marine environment management at the University of Aberdeen. Her studies consolidated her deep desire to change things. “The future of marine resources is something that concerns me deeply. I think eco-adventures have the power to rally people and teach humanist values.”

A photo exhibition and a clothing drive

After the roundtable with Marine Jacq-Pietri and environmental solutions consultant Florent Favier, the Sophia Antipolis campus will be hosting an exhibition of photos by Solene Chevreuil, as well as a drive to collect second-hand clothes and sports equipment. On Sunday, 21 November, five SKEMA students will make their way to Nice via Antibes during the final leg of the Sport Planète relay.
