The hackathon relied on in-person coaching and inter-campus videoconferencing (opening conference, meetings with professionals and an inter-campus final), as well as Q&A sessions via social networks. Management students on the first year of the SKEMA's Master in Management, Grande Ecole programme worked with engineering students from ESIEA. Students from MIAGE Université Cote d’Azur and Ecole Centrale in Lille also took part.
The hackathon had three educational objectives:
- develop creativity
- develop the ability to innovate
- promote ethical questioning on the technologies that will shape the future.
Participants came up with ethical solutions to encompass the notion of positive and sustainable impact. The 120 mixed teams comprising management and engineering students worked together to come up with innovative solutions, bearing in mind their societal impact. Students pitched their ideas using a video.
