Published on 25 November 2021

On 10 November, students from SKEMA’s Suzhou campus met with the managers of the Crédit Agricole Group's investment bank in Shanghai. They were accompanied by Yang April, career advisor from the Talent & Careers department, and Matthieu Dumont, director of the Suzhou campus.

Crédit Agricole CIB (Corporate and Investment Bank) is the investment arm of the 12th largest banking group in the world: Crédit Agricole. As part of their visit, students got to meet Clément Lecroart, chief of staff to the chairman of Crédit Agricole CIB in China.

In a short presentation, the bank's executive went over the group's roots and its Chinese operations. Today, Crédit Agricole CIB is present in Beijing, Tianjin, Xiamen and Canton. It also has an office in Shenzhen, a city of 10 million inhabitants, south of Guangzhou.

Increase in hiring

After Clément Lecroart, Tina Ye, head of human resources at Crédit Agricole CIB, spoke about the bank's hiring policy in China. She told SKEMA students that the number of employees hired by Crédit Agricole has increased significantly since 2018. Similarly, she indicated that the number of women appointed to management positions is constantly increasing in the bank.

Attracting the interest of SKEMA students

Located in the heart of a major Chinese conurbation, Crédit Agricole CIB operates in Asia, Europe, North and South America and Oceania, offering "many job opportunities" to students, according to Wendy Zhu, head of international markets for China. At the end of the visit, Frank Wu, head of international trade and banking for China, presented his department, detailing the positions that currently make up his team.
