US campus: Krispy Kreme Challenge

Published on 07 February 2020

Last Saturday, SKEMA students and faculty participated in The Krispy Kreme Challenge, a fun event that started among friends and has now transformed into a nationally publicised charity race and highly popular fitness event among students and locals to the Raleigh area.

The challenge: beginning on the campus of SKEMA partner, NC State, runners travel 2.5 miles through historic downtown Raleigh to the Krispy Kreme location, where they attempt to eat one dozen original glazed donuts, then must attempt to run 2.5 miles back to the starting location.

The goal: 2400 calories, 12 doughnuts, 5 miles, 1 hour. The Krispy Kreme Challenge is a test of physical fitness and gastrointestinal fortitude.

Donations from the challenge go to the UNC Children's Hospital.

Congratulations to the 7 students and the professors participants:  Dr. Michael Lee, Dr. Mohamed Desoky.
