Professor wins Best Entrepreneurship Research Award

Published on 08 January 2019

Armin Schwienbacher, professor in entrepreneurial finance and fintech at SKEMA, and Daniel Blaseg from the University of Frankfurt, won the KSG Best Entrepreneurship Research Award 2018 of the Karl Schlecht Foundation (KSG) in Germany, at the G-Forum 2018 in Stuttgart.

The prize was awarded for their research study on the fallacy bias of entrepreneurs. The prize aims at stimulating research in entrepreneurship that is based on interdisciplinary approaches. The study shows how crowdfunded entrepreneurs misjudge their chances of success early on in the planning process, and that drives too often optimistic entrepreneurs to start a crowdfunding campaign that ultimately fails.

This new prize is the latest acknowledgement of SKEMA's contribution to international research in the emerging field of entrepreneurial finance.
