HOPE needs your support for project in Brazil

Published on 10 March 2021

The student association HOPE (Humanitarian Organisation Promoting Equity) has announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to continue the Espero Com Camille Murris humanitarian project by building an extension to the centre for children with unstable family situations in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

HOPE is working with the Operaçao do Brasil association and its representative Pascal Caquineau to extend the buildings at the Tecendo a Vida centre in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Once completed, the extension will double the centre’s capacity.

But to build it, HOPE needs your help. The funds that are collected will be used to purchase building materials and pay skilled professionals to complete a small number of tasks that cannot be undertaken by volunteers.

In July 2021, a new group of SKEMA students will follow in the footsteps of the teams from 2018 and 2019 by travelling to the site to continue building the first floor of the centre’s workshop.

Camille Murris, who graduated from SKEMA in 2012, was killed in the Nice terrorist attack on 14 July 2016. During her time at SKEMA, she was an active member of the humanitarian association. To honour her memory and promote her values, Camille’s parents asked the humanitarian association HOPE (Humanitarian Organization Promoting Equity) to set up a project to help underprivileged children in South America, a cause that was very important to Camille.
